As an R&D manager you will manage a team of research & development professionals, overseeing projects to develop new silicone based polymers and emulsions for a wide range of markets and applications. You will solve technical problems and develop new solutions for a specific application or within a specific area of research. You will independently evaluate, select and apply standard scientific techniques, processes and criteria.
In this position you will lead the research & development team for the business unit SIL (silicones) in the Netherlands as part of a global R&D team for which the other R&D Centres are located in Malaysia and Canada. Regarding the project portfolio you are responsible from concept development to commercialization. As a manager you are the owner of the local R&D budget supporting the SIL division and you will report to the Global R&D Manager.
You will have frequent and close contact with other internal departments to look at opportunities together. You ensure that others know what BRB is working on and what we are capable of, and in this way you stay ahead of what other companies are undertaking.
The team
The team you will manage is based at our European R&D Centre, located in the Netherlands. The team currently consists of 5 colleagues and the spoken language is English.
