Are you passionate about research and development? Do you enjoy working on major initiatives with a small team wherein your contributions are truly valued? Do you like to work in a dynamic setting with a diversity of tasks? Then BRB has the job for you!
As our Product Development Chemist at BU Silicones you will collaborate on a variety of research projects and you will share accountability for the day-to-day operations and lab management in R&D.
More precisely, you will aid in the creation of novel silicone-based polymers and/or emulsions as well as the optimisation of commercial products. You will conduct a variety of synthesis tasks, run analytical tests, gather data, and present the findings. You monitor safety and regulatory issues during these procedures, and you will help with technical implementation into manufacturing as appropriate. You prioritise tasks, complete them on time, and fulfil deadlines in an efficient manner.
Finally, you and the team are in charge of buying chemicals and consumables, maintaining records of equipment maintenance, and the handling of incoming research samples. In order to guarantee a safe working environment and minimise downtime, it's critical to achieve a balance between the project workload and the organisation and maintenance demands of the lab.
About 80–90% of your time will be spent in the lab conducting practical research.
The R&D team you will join consists of six immediate coworkers. The working language in this role is English & Dutch, and you are a member of a global team with sister labs in Malaysia & Canada. You report directly to the R&D manager located in the Netherlands.
This is an ideal job if you are passionate about research and appreciate working in a lab. We give you the opportunity to learn about BRB, its products, and applications.
With PETRONAS' acquisition, you may benefit from the best of both worlds. The benefits of working for a big company combined with the flexibility to launch your own initiatives in an entrepreneurial setting. In addition to the activities, we support your ambition.
But there's more to offer:
a salary matching your experience and skills;
a position for at least 32 hours per week;
annual bonus of a maximum of 2 monthly salaries;
8% holiday allowance, 29 free days a year and 2 more if you haven't been sick all year around;
the possibility to purchase up to 5 additional leave days per year;
reimbursement of your daily travel costs, 21 cents per km with a maximum of 50 km for a single journey;
pension scheme with only 4% personal contribution;
company laptop; • fresh fruit at our offices;
staff outings with a little bit extra. Consider, for example, an annual company party, Christmans event, and BRB providing ‘Vlaai’ regularly as celebration of the birthdays of their employees.
We are searching for a new team member who has a few years of similar corporate experience, adequate motivation, and a lot of spirit; someone who desires to advance personally and professionally while actively participating in BRB's expansion.
