As our Product Development Chemist, in addition to supporting various research projects, you will also be responsible for the operational activities and lab organization within R&D.
You work on new as well as existing products and raw materials. You determine the experimental approach, carry out a wide range of physical, chemical, and performance tests, collect, analyze and report results. During these processes, you keep track of safety and regulatory aspects and you assist the technical implementation into manufacturing. You do so in an effective and timely manner, prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
Furthermore, you optimize, validate and implement new and existing test methods thereby promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
Finally, together with the rest of the team, you are responsible for the incoming control of research samples, ordering chemicals and consumables, keeping records of equipment maintenance and calibration. It's important to balance lab organization and maintenance needs with the project workload while promoting a safe work environment and avoiding downtime.
You will be doing hands-on research in the lab for about 80 % of your time.
The team
The team you will join is fairly small and consists of five colleagues. It is a multicultural team and the working language is English. In this position, which was created to expand the team, you report directly to the line manager.
